$“My Office Today” Redwing Farm, Strafford, New Hampshire\ Last week I spoke of 8 degrees below zero temperatures in New Hampshire and this week we are experiencing 45 and 50 degree temps! Yesterday, with the thermometer rising quickly, before our very eyes, the snow began to melt quickly and heavy fog settled in. By nightfall we still had no wind so the fog was acting like a huge diffuser around the lights from the house and the barn. Time to play! Fed the horses and grabbed the gear to try and capture the quiet beauty of a foggy winter night in New Hampshire. "My Office Today" Chocorua Mountain and Lake, White Mountain National Forest, Albany, NH, USA A dawn view of Chocorua Mountain Peak as seen from Chocorua Lake in the beautiful What Mountain National Forest, in Albany, New Hampshire and is the eastern most peak of the Sandwhich Mountain Range in the White Mountain National Forest. Mount Chocorua has an elevation of 3,490 fe (1,064 m) and is a favorite destination for hikers. The summit is bare rock and the hikes are rather challenging. The 360 degree view at the summit is worth the effort! Taking advantage of the unseasonably warm temperatures all over New England this weekend, I left my home at 3am with all my gear and met up with fellow photographer Kim Keyes to spend a good three hours shooting stars, pre-dawn and sunrise shots of the lake and mountain. It was rather unsettling to hear the thunderous cracking sounds in the dark as the ice melted in the January thaw.
